This week we challenged marketing strategist Steffi Allen to choose 11 items that represent her and her life in the past, present and future!
One item that represents my childhood: My stuffed panda bear
"My stuffed panda bear, that yes at the raw age of 25 I still sleep with. It’s like a comfort blanket, I’ve had it since I was very young maybe 5/6 so 20 years later it’s still with me and it went everywhere with me, there wasn’t a night where I didn’t fall asleep with it clutched into me."
One item that represents my nationality: My coat and jacket collection
"I live in London and there’s never a day (apart from when we have a 3 week heatwave during summer) that I’m not wearing a jacket or coat. The weather can be so hard to dress for sometimes as it’s very unpredictable so I think a jacket is a staple and of course you have to have the perfect jacket for the perfect outfit, which means the collection just keeps growing. I also believe they can complete an outfit and change the overall look."
One item that represents my biggest passion: My laptop
"My biggest passion is fashion, the clothes, the styling, the outfits. So of course I have to say my clothes. More specifically my passion as it is stands is fashion marketing and social media so when it comes to one item that represents my biggest passion would honestly by my laptop, I spend all day every day on it, working towards the career I hope to have one day. You can’t be involved in marketing without some form of laptop/computer/phone so I feel as though everything I’ve done up until this point has been lived through and worked through on that laptop, as well as my phone."
One item that represents my highest ambition in life: The quote 'Everything happens for a reason'
"It isn’t a physical item but a quote. And one that I truly believe in and think about almost every day. 'Everything happens for a reason' and when I currently look back on my life I truly believe it does. Things happen and you don’t think about them in a positive way during the moment, it could be something awful that you have no idea how to get around but it works out for the better in the end, or even something good that changes your life. The world works in mysterious ways."
One item that represents my current mood: My bed
"I haven’t been having a good time lately mood wise and getting into bed and letting all of that emotion out has actually been a god send, sounds strange but a good cry can actually make you feel so much better."

One item that represents my favourite person: A photo of my parents
"They’re my favourite people, I wouldn’t be where I am today with the help and support of them and the photo I have of them is framed on my chest of draws so when I see it every day I smile because they’re laughing in the picture and they look so happy and it makes me happy."
One item that represents my style: My oversized black blazer
"I would definitely say my oversized black blazer. My style is very minimal with the colours, shapes and fits of the clothes I wear. I think a good blazer is an absolute staple, you can style them in so many ways and its definitely my most worn outerwear piece as I’m always drawn to pairing it with different looks."
One item that represents my greatest fear: Shapewear
"Sounds silly and I have nothing at all against shapewear or anyone that uses it as obviously it’s very popular but when I got to the point where I had to use it to look good in a dress is where I was at my lowest with how I looked and I never want to go back to that point again. I’ve lost weight and I feel so much better in myself and I’m more comfortable in my own skin and confident in the clothes I’ve always wanted to wear. I know how it feels to hate how you look, and I would never want myself to feel that again."
One item that represents my profession: Also my laptop
"As I said previously, I live on my laptop and my phone, I work in marketing so I use my laptop all day every day but I’ve also been working on my Instagram properly for the past year so I feel like I’m never off it."
One item that represents this year: My headphones
"Honestly this year has been a whirlwind of emotions and if there’s one thing that gets me through the days it’s listening to music on full blast, it’s a real mood booster and I just block everything out and daydream about good things to come."
One item that represents me: Humour
"Not exactly an item but humour. I love to laugh, most specifically that ugly laugh where you can’t even hear the laugh. I could be in the worst of moods and if I’m with someone and they make me laugh then I forget about everything and I’m instantly in a better mood. Humour really is the best medicine."
