Let me start by saying I am not a trained esthetician, makeup artist, hair stylist, or anything of the sort. I grew up with a mother who valued quality beauty products, and therefore my love started from a young age. I love the feeling of a luxury face oil as I rub it into my cheeks. I also love the rush of a good deal when I score a high-end dupe lip liner. Because beauty is a never ending journey as we age, I want to share my top picks and the products I’m trying with our readers, so we can make informed decisions together!

The first self-care item I bought in 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic lock-down was a gua sha stone. The idea of at-home facial massage was too good to pass up, and let me tell you, it’s beyond worth it. I simply apply a generous amount of facial oil to my neck, jaw and all over my face and rub the stone along in patterns that help with excess inflammation. I’ve seen real time results after waking up with a puffy face in the morning (especially after a night of pasta and wine). Watch this video to learn how.

I love a good lip color. What I love even more is a lip color that stays and has a little shine. Living in the Northern part of the United States, much of our year is very dry and therefore, so are my lips. This lip gloss keeps my lips hydrated with a beautiful, rich color for hours.

As previously mentioned, I suffer from dry lips most of the year. This lip balm almost feels medicinal in how it hydrates my lips and keeps them nice and plump. I apply it throughout the day, but I find the best result when applied at night before bed. I wake up with soft lips and don’t feel the immediate need to reach for my chapstick!

I’ve been using these supplements for a few years now and have seen a legitimate difference. Recently, I’ve been growing my hair out for my wedding in October and let me tell you. Since I’ve started growing my hair, I’ve seen an increase of 4 inches. Since December 2019! This is a huge accomplishment for my typically slow-growing hair. This supplement also keeps my nails strong and healthy.

As a chronic eyelash-curler, I’ve found this mascara to be a total life saver. It doesn’t require me to curl my lashes as many times as I typically do. It also spreads my lashes out beautifully to create a full lash line and keeps my lashes peppy all day long. This brand is also clean, which makes me feel better about using.

I typically exfoliate my face 2-3 times per week, but this face scrubber helps support my skin during the days between. It helps my gentle cleanser really work its magic at the end of the day to remove my makeup and any excess dirt. The best part? It’s super cheap!

First, if you don’t follow Negin Mirsalehi on Instagram, do it now. She’s a female entrepreneur, the creator of Gisou, as well as a body and beauty positive influencer with great styling tips. The Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil is truly the best hair oil I’ve ever used. The smell is to die for (I will sometimes add a drop to my wrist as a hydrating perfume) and the oil really does its job. After applying, I don’t see fly-aways for the rest of the day.

When I curl my hair, it typically needs to be dirty in order to hold any kind of heat treatment. This texturizing spray not only smells amazing, but it helps my clean hair hold a curl. It also gives my style a messier look, which I appreciate especially in the summertime!

My natural hair texture is a little weird; it’s not stick straight, but also not thoroughly wavy. This Air Dry Cream helps to boost my waves in a way that looks tousled and effortless, while keeping my hair shiny and smooth. No more crunchy waves for me!

Best part of this one? Doesn’t cost a thing. I’ve been forcing myself to stay hydrated and focus on rest recently, and wow, is it positively impacting my skin. My face has been so much clearer, and the dark circles under my eyes have lightened. Beauty Sleep is a real thing!
